Peat Moss:

SPILLSORB, OCLANSORB, SPAGSORB, PEAT SORB, ETC…

The differences between CLEANSPILLS and all the Peat Moss is mainly the next points:

  1. Peat Moss is a natural resource from the nature, how takes centuries to replace. Ours is a bio-product.
  2. Price higher than CLEANSPILLS.
  3. Absorption capacity is lower than CLEANSPILLS.
  4. Creates more waste (not interesting for companies with ISO 14001).
  5. Price per bag + quantity of liquid spill absorbed (liters) + total waste (product + liquid spill) = Price of the liquid spill absorbed (this it makes CLEANSPILLS, much cheaper than this absorbent).

 

Polypropylene:

3M, New Pig, SPC, Drizit, Power Sorb, Darcy, Green Stuff, etc..

The differences between CLEANSPILLS and the “Polypropylene” are:

  • Adsorbs and not Absorbs.
  • Can’t absorb like CLEANSPILLS in terms of versatility in different ambients with only one product. Can also be used for a kind of surfaces where “Polypropylene” doesn’t absorb much well and can’t arrive to the residues of the spills.
  • Leaching the hydrocarbon when is used.
  • Not Biodegradable, because is synthetic and creates a lot of pollution for be manufactured. Is totally not environmentally friendly.
  • Will not biodegrade the hydrocarbon.
  • When is used and needs to be incinerated creates gaseous fumes and dioxides how create air pollution.
  • Price higher than CLEANSPILLS.
  • Price per bag + quantity of liquid spill absorbed (liters) + total waste (product + liquid spill) = Price of the liquid spill absorbed (this it makes CLEANSPILLS, much cheaper than this absorbent).

 

Sawdust:

There are different kinds of sawdust (wood chips ground up into a granular substance). This product is not allowed already in many countries and in some other ones is not recommended because the dust is not good in many industries, alimentary, electronic, etc.

The contents higher percentage of moisture and this moisture creates bacteria, for this reason not used and is on the way to disappear. Some companies make a better process and make it clean, little bit more dry and they add a fire resistant (phosphates) process to make it more consistent but after all this process the product doesn’t become biodegradable 100%. This product were well commercialized in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy but the government regulations make it each time most difficult to sell the market is decreasing for this product.

Clay(Sepiolite, Diatomaceuos, Attapulgite, Vermiculite, etc.):

There are many brands and many kinds of mineral absorbents based in clay family.This products are also in total decreasing because the product creates many waste, can’t be mixed in water and the most important point is that is carcinogenic and produces silicosis.

  1. Absorption capacity is lower than CLEANSPILLS around 9 times.
  2. Creates more waste (not interesting for companies with ISO 14001).
  3. Non incinerable ( or incinerable at very high price)
  4. Can’t be used in all surfaces (can not be used in rivers, lakes, sea ports, etc…)
  5. Will not biodegrade the hydrocarbon.
  6. Mixed with water (many spills) the absorbent is very melted with the water and very difficult to clean.
  7. Is very slippery (dangerous in working areas or for traffic areas).
  8. Is abrasive for the machinery.
  9. Is not recommended also near to machines with electronic or electric systems.
  10. Come from the natural resources “mines” (not environmentally friendly because is not a recycled or bio-product).
  11. Is carcinogen (silicosis) a form of cancer.
